Long-Term Future of Telemedicine in Germany: The Patient’s, Physician’s, and Payer’s Perspective

Research on the future of telecare in Germany has recently been published. 

Interviews were conducted with 20 decision-makers from influential organisations in Germany on the application of telemedicine. The interviewees concluded that telemedicine will play a role and patients expect this to enable better care. The integration of the “Gesundheitskarte”, or smart card, is considered a key tool in the adoption of telemedicine in Germany.
